METI has announced the appointment Dr. Raquel Suro and Ms. Catherine (Casey) Giffen as co-Deputy Directors of Natural Resources on September 16, 2019.

Dr. Suro joined METI in September 2013, where she was part of the Ecosystem Management Programs team for more than 5 years. In this role, Raquel supported planning and managing of USFS contracts. She has a Ph.D., Biological Scieces/Pathobiology, from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), a M.Sc., Environmental Science and Management, from the Universidad Metropolitana de Puerto Rico.

Ms. Giffen has over 18 years of experience with the USDA Forest Service working with national, regional, and forest-level land management programs; experience as a Natural Resource Planner and has worked as a communication specialist. She has a BS in Forestry from the University of New Hampshire.
