
Renard U. Johnson, President/CEO, founded Management and Engineering Technologies International, Inc. (METI) in 1994. Under his leadership, METI experienced steady growth and has earned several prestigious awards. He is committed and passionate about his community and gives his time to a number of organizations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Management from the University of Texas at El Paso. Mr. Johnson is the former Chairman of the Board for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, El Paso Branch; Former Chairman of the Board of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Former President and current Director of the Texas Lyceum;; a former member of the UTEP College of Engineering Advisory Board; was a member of the UTEP President’s 2014 Centennial Commission; Serves as President of the governing board for the Hospitals of Providence (Memorial, Transmountain Campuses); graduate of the El Paso FBI Citizen’s Academy; a current member of the Trellis Corporation Board; recipient of the UTEP College of Business Gold Nugget Award in 2013; and proud recipient of the UTEP Distinguished Alumni Award in 2015.
Alvin T. Johnson, Principal, has been a senior executive for METI for over 20 years. He has over 40 years of experience in Program Management and has managed high visibility Government contracts and provided strategic business planning. He was a co-founder and Senior Vice President of Management Assistance Corporation of America (MACA). He is an Army veteran and has received numerous awards for his federal civilian service. He served as Director of the Management Services Office for the Army Research Laboratory at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico where he directed over 400 government and military personnel involved in Army research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) programs. He is a former Director of the Federal Reserve Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of TX. He has written a number of professional papers and delivered several presentations. He obtained a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Ernest H. Osborn, Sr. Vice President, has managed multiple Government contracts for over 20 years. His responsibilities range from Business Development to Project Management. He currently serves as Site Manager for METI’s Dayton, Ohio office and manages METI projects for both Air Force and Army customers. Ernest is experienced in data analysis and statistical methodology as applied to business decision-making, and has extensive experience with business application software. In addition to his full time duties with METI, Ernest has served on executive boards for several different trade organizations and enjoys teaching in his free time. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science and Operations Research from Wright State University, as well as an MBA in Marketing and Marketing Research.
Michelle Rosalez, Vice President of Human Resources, has over 18 years of comprehensive HR and project management experience including recruitment and retention, training, budget development and reconciliation, conflict resolution, change management, and organizational development. She has extensive knowledge of compliance with state and federal regulations as it pertains to employee reports, benefits, and compensation. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Miriam Saavedra, Chief Financial Officer, is an experienced professional with over 30 years’ in the government contracting industry and public accounting field, with 15 years working in government cost accounting and 18 years in auditing/public accounting. She has managed all functions of the accounting system, contracts and compliance functions with DCAA, IRS and state and local governments. Some areas of concentration are financial accounting, internal controls, cost accounting and indirect rates, government compliance (DCAA, FAR, CAS) and various audits. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Dr. Raquel Suro is a Deputy PM with five years of experience supporting planning and managing of Government contracts. She possesses a comprehensive understanding of natural resource management, with extensive experience in biological and environmental science, management, conservation of natural resources, air quality, GIS, statistical analysis, training, and policy. She has managed several research projects that involved protocol development, standard operating procedures, data collection, and data analysis. She obtained a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences/Pathobiology from the University of Texas at El Paso and a M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Management, Conservation and Management of Natural Resources from Universidad Metropolitana de Puerto Rico.
Prior to joining METI, Casey was a Forest Service employee for almost 18 years where she specialized in land management planning, administrative appeal reviews, and natural resource management working with national, regional, and forest-level programs. As a planner and biological scientist at the National Headquarters in Washington, DC, Casey contributed to the development of Forest Service 2012 Planning Rule directives, demonstrated a track record of leading collaborative teams of resource specialists and program managers to complete administrative reviews and meet regulatory timeframes, and served as a member of the agency’s Climate Change Education Team.
Dave has worked with American Forests, the Forest Climate Working Group and other organizations since 2015 to analyze risks and opportunities related to climate change, integrate climate adaptation and mitigation strategy into performance systems, and advise clients on strategic options and issues in climate change response, resilience and environmental service markets.
